While it’s likely we’ll use many different therapy techniques, here’s a few that I frequently pull from

Therapy Approaches

  • Play Therapy

I’m a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), AutPlay Certified, and always learning new Play therapy techniques. This means I believe child therapy needs to be from the perspective of the child first. Your child will often leave therapy saying the session was fun! There is always deep emotional and developmental work happening, and I love to talk about that in our frequent parent consultations.

  • Experiential Therapy

I believe that to change our brains or our emotions, we have to have different experiences. This helps our brains believe something new can happen. Some of this comes into play therapy. It also can be in a family session encouraging a different pattern of communicating between siblings, or in a parenting consult brainstorming different ways to help you understand your child. I know change can happen, and a big part of my work is showing you potential ways to do that.

  • Humanistic Theories

Underlying all my theories are humanistic principles that you are the leader of your destiny. Cheesy, I know. But I really believe that you are the expert on you, and my job is just to get to know all the parts that make up who you are! I go into every therapy session knowing that we’ll work together to find the direction you need for your goals in life.
